These nomadic northern Iranian peoples were the direct link between the civilized Southern Iranians–Persians & Medes (Kurds)– and North-Western Europe. These mounted cavaliers live on today, not just in their stunning art and material culture but also the linguistic, folkloric and genetic heritage of such people as the Slavs, Goths, Saxons, Picts, Jutes, Catalans, Hungarians and other European stock.
