Sorry you feel that way

The phrase, ‘I feel sorry for you’ has morphed in contemporary culture from a statement of genuine sympathy/empathy to something more like a Trojan dagger with which to cut and wound. It is a rhetorical weapon wielded in this way by the lowest of the low.
To the shameless scoundrels who abuse the phrase in this manner… let me just say

‘I don’t hate you…I just feel sorry for you.’
